The E30 Touring has arrived. Duurtlang and I have been working on this for several months, glad to finally have it sitting at home. Haven't been able to go over it in detail yet, but it's amazing straight, clean, and well-sorted. Really blown away and satisfied, Duurtlang picked out a great car. Updates forthcoming this weekend.

Holy happening of happenings!

So much of happenings! Was planing on going down to Houston to get it this weekend, figured out that shipping it would be nearly as cheap as renting a truck/trailer, and then it was supposed to arrive tomorrow and then got a call that the truck had made it to Dallas a night early! An evening of much emotion!

High five BMW!

Well I don't see what the big deal was. Guess the 'murican E30s just weren't good enough for you and you had to- * clicks through to second pic*
...oooOOOOOOOooooooh. Well. I'll be shutting up now.

hahahahaha! I was afraid people might think that, but I've decided I like the semi-troll!

Nice!

that front plate holder being off center is killing me slowly.
Other than that, sweet ride dude, now we're wagon buddies!
![]() 08/07/2014 at 23:32 |

I'm full of all kinds of emotions right now and this is the cherry on top!

So beautiful, so sublime.
![]() 08/07/2014 at 23:42 |

Dammit, you had to point that out! Now it's all I can see
![]() 08/07/2014 at 23:43 |

I wish we were E30 wagon buddies, but we are close enough!
![]() 08/07/2014 at 23:44 |

It's horrible. When my new bumper was put on, I just decided "screw it, I'll never get it centered" so I made a custom bracket for the front.
This however, it's not far enough to the passenger side to be acceptable, and it's not close enough to center to ignore.

Nice catch.
I saw one of these on the road in the Seattle area a couple months ago. I guess they will slowly trickle in, just like some cars slowly leave the US for Europe.

dude heck yeah! That means it pasted right by my house!

Thanks, T-Bone.

Oh yes. The want is strong.

God, I love something as boxy as an E30 in an even boxier form.
![]() 08/08/2014 at 00:55 |

mind saying how much it cost all told? Did you register it or anything yet, and how much paperwork costs and stuff, I've been pining over an e30 wagon since I realized they are 25 years old

Amazing!!

Have some specific, entrepreneurial ideas for this one, so I'm going to play a bit coy on total price, but I'll have spent a bit over $2000 to get it shipped from Emeden, GER to Houston, through customs, and registered . Honestly, finding a clean example and having someone over there to go through the hunting/inspection/logistical process was a far bigger problem than the expense of the importation process.
If you're legitimately interested in the car shoot me an email and I'll get in contact with you.

Aw, Doug, you're making me blush!!

Congratulations!
Wash it three times then clay it to get the port crud off it...

yeah what's your email? I am very interested actually, it wouldn't be for a few months from now though. I'm still saving some money and I gotta get thru this next semester of school.
But I'm saving up to buy my first car of my own around December time. So I'd love to get some details so I can get shit done when I need to.
And also... Is it manual?

Doing a full detail this weekend. Wasn't as bad as I had feared it might be, at least.

If you're willing to share, I'd be interested to hear about your shipping. Ferrero1911 and I still have our Lada in Europe. I learned how much of a hassle that can be when we shipped our cars from Japan.

Shoot me an email to bradleysparker AT gmail DOT com , I'd like to pick your brain a bit as well since you've shipped from Japan.

Congrats man! Welcome to the rare-imported-EU-cars club. :)

Thank you! What kind of car(d) are you carrying with the club?

This one:
It's a derivative of the Fiat 600, a 1973 Zastava 750, which just became legal. Only two in Canada (mine was the first) and about four in NA. The story is forthcoming!

The proportions are just spot on with that thing. I wouldn't be able to take my eyes off of it if I owned it.

I'm in Seattle. Set up snares, brb.

My thoughts exactly. I find myself walking out once an hour just to go look at it from the rear 3/4 view.

! Is this the one from the Atlanta area a while ago?

Nope! Fresh import straight from Holland!

Niiiiiice!

I bought it in Germany, then imported/registered it in my native the Netherlands for a while when I had some work done to it. Early July, the July third I believe, I drove it to the Emden harbor in Germany (an hour from my home) to have it shipped to Texas.

Lovely. (I guess I know one more person to ask about a LeMons Trabi, then!)

I've seen a few of these on German Ebay. Apparently they fetch a decent amount of money (in Germany). Is there any demand for these on the other side of the Atlantic?

No idea, I brought the little guy over for myself. :)
Judging by the reactions I've been getting from passers-by, 600's would likely find homes easily here.

Umm NSFW tag please? It was causal dress at work and I wore gym shorts. German wagons are my weakness.

Been beating the shit out of that shit since my freshman year of high school. Can't let it go, it's too comfortable and too cool, notwithstanding the nosedive 311 has taken over the past several years.

What cars slowly leave the us for europe?
![]() 02/18/2015 at 20:52 |

Old MBs, Porsches, some VWs, yank tanks, Italians - check some Euro publications and dealers, ex-USA cars aren't rare.

BTU....I have spied a thing, and I thought of you friend. I live in the north so seeing a special car in the middle of winter was unbelievable. It was an astounding car to see in person.

The upside is that the mounting screws are far enough inboard that the plate holder would cover the holes if you moved it over.

1st gen 'Stangs for example. They are the usual pick of the "do a road trip through the US, take car back home to pay for it" crowd. In a market where all classic cars constantly rise in value Mustang prices haven't risen in years.

I can see this happening soon with this car.

Only one problem, I'd need a bigger garage :)
